Spring Gardening
April is Earth month and springtime in Arizona!!

Join master gardeners Joan Baron and Morgan Winburn as they share tips and planting ideas for your gardens.

We will discuss how to prepare your gardens for growing black-eyed peas, okra, squashes, sweet & hot peppers, eggplant and a wide variety of tomatoes. Want to try growing Rosella - also known as hibiscus and make delicious hibiscus tea? How about malabar spinach, dill, lavender, lemon verbena and mint? We love sweet potatoes and those vining luffa. The bees will be so happy you grew them and would be most endeared to you for planting cosmos, zinnias, marigolds, sunflowers and many more varieties that we will discuss.

We will walk you around the garden and show starter plants, flowering plants and talk about preventing the aphids from moving in!!

If you are eager to have a beautiful robust garden this is not the time to procrastinate - the warmer temperatures are heading our way!! Can you just taste your armenian cucumbers, cantaloupe and watermelons? We will also talk about what trees to plant early in the month.

We will give you an update on the Heritage Grain Trials and talk about the importance of saving seeds and the value in companion planting.

We look forward to seeing you in the garden webinar.
